BayTrust CoachForce development officer Shan Jensen-Loach says there is a need to develop Bay of Plenty netball coaches.
But instead of just stating it Shan is doing something about it. The development officer has held nearly 50 coaching workshops across the nine netball centres.
She says more than 400 coaches of various experience levels attended the workshops.
'Well done coaches. You are doing your players a great service by upskilling and extending your knowledge base to keep up with this constantly changing and evolving game.
Shan says change is constant in one of New Zealand's most popular games and one such change is rule amendments which will come into force on January 1, next year.
'All countries were able to submit rule change proposals prior to the World Cup and member countries then voted on the ones to be adopted.”
She says there will be meetings throughout the regions to update people prior to the 2016 season. For those who can't make those meetings the rule amendments can be seen at www.mynetball.co.nz
Coaching development is ongoing says Shan and information on a variety of workshops for all coaching levels will be available in the New Year. For more information email Shan at [email protected]
