Workers get riding on national day

About 60 cyclists enjoyed a breakfast in Red Square today following a ride to work on Bike Wise month ‘National Go By Bike Day'.

The day is about getting pedalling on the work commute and is supported and organised in Tauranga by Sport BOP.

Participating in the event was Public Health medical leader Dr Phil Shoemack and his wife Sue. They both talk about the ride to work as does Sport BOP's Nicki Miller in the video below.

This event is one of a month long calendar of activities for Bike Wise month.

Happening tonight is the Urban Mountain Bike Loop.

It's a 6.7km steep ride around Welcome Bay.

Cyclists wishing to participate should meet in the car park of Waipuna Park, Kaitemako Road, Welcome Bay at 5.45pm.
