Whitianga scream queen Eloise Green's has got her list, she's checked it twice and found out which locals are naughty or nice...

That's right all you spooky ghouls, mischievous goblins and wandering ghosties – another frightfully awesome Halloween is heading to town this Saturday night.

For a third year running Eloise has compiled her ‘Trick or Treating Friendly List' so children and grownup children alike can enjoy a safe and friendly All Hallows Eve.

'Preparations this year have gone really smoothly, I think I'm getting the hang of it now, it only took me three years!” she says with a laugh.

'Twenty-eight people came forward and put their hands up this year, I've also got a few ‘repeat offenders' as I like to call them, plus a couple of newbies which include families who've recently moved to Whitianga.”

If you've not heard about the list, it goes like this: In the weeks leading up to Halloween Eloise has called on Whitianga locals who are happy to be visited by trick or treaters to register for the list.

It's brilliantly clever, this way trick or treaters can visit registered addresses and have tonnes of fun while keeping out the hair of those people who do not participate in Halloween.

This Saturday registered Trick or Treat Friendly houses will be open from 3.30pm until 7pm.

Eloise says Halloween HQ will be based at 98Cook Dr, where there will be lots going on including child friendly Madame Zelda who will be on site to read your fortune.

'We'd also love as many trick or treats to come to Halloween HQ for a group photo which we'll take at 6pm. Last year when took the group photo there were 90 people in the shot, it was amazing!

'We're going bigger and scarier this year, and I'll be harnessing my inner wicked witch!”
