More than 500 athletes from throughout New Zealand pushed themselves to their physical limits at the New Zealand Team Nationals, hosted by Mount CrossFit, in an ultimate fitness test on October 24-25.
Co-organised by John Templeton, Janicke Harmens and Luke McGruer, the two-day brawny battle consisted of 11 workouts of all different fitness elements.
Palmerston North's CrossFit Mana won the expert division, while Corpore Sano CrossFit from Auckland won the beginner division.
CrossFit Hawkes Bay won the master's division, with Mount CrossFit placing second equal with CrossFit New Zealand and CrossFit Tomata.
Co-organiser Luke McGruer says the Mount teams did 'amazing”. 'They're probably some of our strongest teams we've had in a while. They're just getting stronger each year.”
'It was awesome to watch and the master's teams did really well to come second equal.”

Luke guesses there were more than 1500 spectators through the doors during the two-day mass CrossFit event.
CrossFit is an exercise regime that combines endurance, weight lifting, gymnastics and more into a high-intensity workout.
Day one of the weekend event started at 8am at ASB Arena, with competitors challenged in weight lifting and gymnastic workouts until 4pm. Competitors resumed workouts at Mount CrossFit at 7pm, when they were challenged to 55-minutes of non-stop endurance rowing to shave off as many calories as possible until 10.30pm.
'It went really well,” says Luke. 'There would have been about 200-300 people in the gym and the atmosphere was crazy. It looked like a mosh pit. It was probably the best atmosphere at a CrossFit competition I've seen in a while.” View the video here.
Day two on Sunday started at 8am at Baywave, before competitors headed back to ASB Arena for more gruelling workouts, before the final heats in the afternoon.
