Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some but Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard is hoping it will bring them good fortune when they tee-off for their fun charity golf event.
It's the fourth year the Coastguard has hosted the event with all money raised going to cover the cost of the volunteer organisation.
Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard operation support Tania Williamson says the fun charity golf event will be held on Friday November 13 at Omanu Golf Club.
'This is one of our major fundraisers for the year. As we receive no government funding, this is one way to raise funds towards our operating costs to ensure we continue looking after the boating public in the Tauranga area.”
Tania says it's a fun day out and those taking part don't need to be fantastic golfers.
'We are now calling for players to register for the event, there will be great prizes and a buffet meal to enjoy during the prize giving.”
The cost is $120 per team of two. It is Ambrose format and arrival starts from midday with tee-off at 1pm.
To register contact either Simon Barker or Tania Williamson on (07) 578 5579 or email [email protected] for more information.
Tania says with daylight saving kicking in that normally means the start of the boating season.
'We remind all our boaties to renew their membership with Coastguard.
