Battle heats up for RWC

As the tension heats up at the Rugby World Cup so too has it become unbearably hot in our newsroom.

We are on the home stretch of our Who Will Rule The Rugby World Cup competition. For those of you who don't know Zoe and I started a wee competition predicting how the All Blacks would go at the RWC and who the likely four semi-finalist would be.

Here is a quick reminder of the rules. Each competitor got a point for choosing which team wins in the All Blacks' pool match and the competitor with the closest points in the match gets a bonus-point of three points.

The competitor with the correct top four come semi-finals, got four points and the competitors who choose the finalists and the winner of the final got four points as well. At the end of the tournament, the team with the most points is declared the winner.

Zoe and I decided it would be great to call in experts to join our team and make it a Boys versus the Girls competition. My work colleague in all her wisdom decided to go with Olympian kayaker Luuka Jones, while I was more conservative and asked Steamers coach Clayton McMillan to join my team.

As it went the Boys' Team took an early lead predicting the first two weeks correctly and taking what I thought would be an unassailable 10-4 lead.

Little did I know that Luuka while over in Europe qualifying for the Rio Olympics sort the help of a witch doctor and has given Zoe some magic tea leaves which she used to pick the last two weeks correctly to draw it 14-all at the completion of pool play.

Unfortunately for both teams neither picked the final four teams correctly. So this week both teams take a break from our predictions and it will come back to choose who will win the RWC final. I believe this will give Luuka enough time to order some more magic tea leaves.

Showing a photo of the All Blacks with the old flag in the background, shows your bias and is not fair for us who want to change. It looks so old and boring and you don't see a Union Jack on their jerseys!!!

Correct, you do not see a flag on the jerseys, because it was not allowed. There is only one thing that is boring , that is all these so called designs of the proposed new flag
