RWC: All Blacks annihilate France

The All Blacks have booked themselves a date with South Africa in next's first semi-final after beating France 62-13 at Millennium Stadium this morning.

In a typically tight test match between the two sides the All Blacks finally showed composure and beautiful ball handling skills to score four tries to one in the first half. Three tries going to wingers Julian Savea, 2, and Nehe Milner-Skudder with All Black lock Brodie Retallick also picking up a brilliant individual try.

The French showed their usual never say die attitude and flair often putting the All Blacks under the pump with the side being rewarded with a monster effort to French No.8 Louis Picamoles grabbing their only try.

Picamoles would soon become the villain after the break when the video referee revealed the No.8 put a fist into Richie McCaw's face. While off the field Jerome Kaino would go under the post to give Daniel Carter an easier conversion to go with a penalty and three conversions.

Savea would soon be in to score his hat-trick after Dane Coles managed to strip the ball from a French player to give the All Blacks an unassailable lead 41-13 with 60 minutes on the board.

This opened the flood gates and the All Blacks forwards where showing their ball handling skills when Charlie Faumuina found a gap down the inside channel did a deft off-load to Kieran Read to scoot 20m to score and Carter to convert to make it 38-13.

The All Blacks subs bench then did their part with a beautiful set piece play that showed Sonny Bill Williams off-loading skills to put Ma'a Nonu in space who give it to an open Tawera Kerr-Balow for another easy conversion to Carter to move it out to a 55-13 lead.

Kerr-Barlow was in for a second try a few minutes later, when reserve prop Tom Moody showed his off-loading skills to put the halfback away the conversion ment New Zealand put on their highest score against the French taking it out to 62-13 with eight minutes to go.

Although the French continued to fight gallantly the men in black were too strong.

The All Blacks will meet South Africa after they beat Wales 23-19.

Not sure how this can be called a tight contest. The French may have tried their best but were simply blown off the paddock by a very good All Black attack supported by excellent defence. This was a top AB performance and now perhaps the media will stop trying to hype 2007 as a far bigger event than it ever was. The highest score against France can never be described as a tight game, so get it right or dont report it at all.

Are you sure you watched the same game as the rest of us? No way could you describe this as a tight contest!
