The Tauranga Spring Home show gets underway this weekend, with a fabulous door prize that's sure to inspire anyone who comes to the event.

Locally owned and operated Mitre 10 Mega Tauranga has put up one of the single biggest prizes seen at the show – a $10,000 voucher for one lucky visitor from October 16-18.

Kiwis are known for their love of DIY and the outdoors, and this year's Tauranga Spring Home Show will have some great ideas and products to add to your plans or complement your existing style.

Stock up or replace items for the kitchen or bathroom, upgrade your DIY plans, pick-up some tools for the man cave and don't forget the outdoor living space.

Mitre 10 will be hosting a special DIY Zone at the show to help inspire you. Plus there'll be a chance to meet Mitre 10 Mega's ‘Easy As' DIY specialist and TV personality Stan Scott.

With more than 26 years of industry experience, Stan will be at the show on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm to show you how it's done and to answer those all-important renovation questions.

Friday is free day thanks to The Weekend Sun, and doors open every day at 10am. Show closes at 5pm Friday and Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. Adult entrance on Saturday and Sunday is $10, with 13-and-unders free.
