All Black fever at Cornerstone

Bacon and eggs are being served alongside pints at Cornerstone Pub on The Strand this morning as the All Blacks take on Georgia.

At halftime the All Blacks are off to a flyer in Cardiff with a 12 point lead over Georgia.

Back in Tauranga, Cornerstone Pub owner Taute Tocker says being able to open for the early games is good for businesses.

'I think we would have well over 100 people here today.”

Bars were given the green light in August to be able to open for live broadcasting of every Rugby World Cup fixture under a new law.

ACT Leader David Seymour's Rugby World Cup Bill allows pubs and clubs to introduce extended opening hours throughout the tournament.

Taute says being a sports bar and sports nation, he would like to see any sports given the same treatment.

When asked if he would be keen to open at 4am for the finals and if people would come down, Taute says 'I think so, it depends on who makes the finals”.

'The All Blacks will be playing in the finals,” says a hopeful Taute.
