It's been two weeks of hard hits, close calls and a few unexpected upsets in the 2015 Rugby World Cup, and friendly rivalry has kicked into overdrive here in at SunLive.
My colleague Greg Taipari and I may be mates in the newsroom, but it's a side bet in our own ‘Who Will Rule the RWC?' competition that's got the office banter flying.
SunLive's Zoe Hunter and Greg Taipari do battle in the ‘Who Will Rule the RWC?' competition.
We're putting good old bragging rights and a morning tea shout on how the All Blacks' will perform and who will be named 2015 world champions.
It's boys against girls – girl power verses a whole lot of testosterone.
Greg and Bay of Plenty Steamers coach Clayton McMillan make up the Boys' Team, while kayaking sensation Luuka Jones and I make up the Girls' Team.
During the tournament in England and Wales, each competitor claims a point for choosing which team wins in the All Blacks' pool match and the competitor with the closest points in the match gets three bonus-points.
The competitor with the correct top four come semi-finals, gets four points and the competitors who choose the finalists and the winner of the final get four points as well.
At the end of the tournament, the team with the most points is declared the winner.
I hate to admit it, but so far the Boys' Team leads our competition 10-2.
But Luuka and I aren't worried. It's always been our plan to soften their egos and let the men think they're winning before we take them out. I'll have my morning tea order to you soon Greg!
Our bets are in for Saturday's game which puts Georgia up against NZ for the first time on October 3 in Cardiff.
I'm feeling pretty confident the girls will win this one, so I'm adding another bonus point for the team with the closest estimate. That's a bonus four points for the closest guess, instead of three.
Bring it on boys!
Here's what we've chosen:
Girls' Team:
Luuka's picks:
Top four: No changes. New Zealand, Ireland, England and France.
Final: New Zealand v Ireland
Winners: New Zealand
NZ pool play v Georgia:
Picking AB's to beat Georgia by 70 points. I think the AB's are out to beat Georgia but not to beat them by as much as everyone (Greg) might expect!
Zoe's picks:
Top four: Changes from NZ, Australia, South Africa and England to NZ, Ireland, Scotland and South Africa.
Obviously, I'm sticking with the boys in black. They're a loyal choice and a great team to look at. Not one of those men is tough on the eyes!
I've altered my top four teams to make the finals after looking at the top three teams of each pool play. Yes Greg, I have done my research.
Out is Australia because I think Scotland will be strong enough to beat Australia, Wales or England in the quarter finals – and whichever team from that trio makes it will be no match for South Africa, who I've picked to top Pool B. That's what I'm betting on anyway.
Final: change from England v New Zealand to NZ v Ireland.
Sorry England, but you're out after the unexpected loss against Wales.
Winners: New Zealand
NZ pool play v Georgia:
I'm picking NZ to win 65-6. This is loosely based on Georgia's loss to Argentina last Saturday, when they scored just nine points against the Pumas' 54.
Plus, Georgia's Kiwi coach Milton Haig has some inside knowledge to the AB's through his extensive coaching in NZ, so Georgia will put some points on the board.
It won't be too many points though, as Georgia aren't playing their strongest team, with their focus instead on getting a win against Namibia to qualify for the 2016 World Championships.
Boys' Team:
Clayton's picks:
Top four: No changes. New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and England.
Final: New Zealand v Australia
Winners: New Zealand
NZ pool play v Georgia:
He's picking the ABs to win by 70. He says Georgia are a slightly better team than Namibia but expects the ABs too start ramping things up now.
Greg's picks:
Top Four: No change to my final four at this stage, although I'm having doubts about England even making the semi-finals.
Final: I still see the finals being a South Africa v New Zealand, with our boys winning.
NZ pool play v Georgia:
No doubt All Blacks to win. Although I was a long way off from picking the points differential last week, I'm sticking with the 100 point margin. Georgia have shown some ability at this tournament but they will be no match for the All Blacks, who should have a near, full-strength team. Let's hope you girls can make it more of a competition this week, aye ladies?
