A hope buildin', yarn spinnin' and roof raisin' performance is being promised when The Eastern singer and songwriter Adam McGrath hits Tauranga next week.
The Lyttelton-based musician, who's been a hit with local audiences in the past, will make his return to the Tauranga Art Gallery on Thursday, October 8, from 7pm.

He's been nominated for a number of music awards and is described as not only a ‘national treasure' but also as New Zealand's ‘toughest-minded songwriter'.
The gallery says they're really looking forward to hosting Adam, who's played the venue several times in the past.
'He's larger than life,” says a gallery spokesperson, 'with a repertoire ranging from bluegrass to the blues via folk, rock and folk/rock.”
On his own and with The Eastern, Adam has opened for the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Steve Earle, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jimmy Barnes plus many others.
He's also performed all over New Zealand, Australia, and the US and is remembered for his morale-raising community work not long after the Canterbury earthquakes.
'Adam's song ‘Hope and Wire' became the inspiration and theme song for filmmaker Gaylene Preston's TV3 drama series, detailing life in post-earthquake Christchurch,” the gallery adds.
Adam McGrath performs at the Tauranga Art Gallery on Thursday, October 8, from 7pm. Tickets range from $20-$25 and are available by calling the gallery on: 578-7933.
