Tauranga City United have been promoted to the Northern Premier League after a 4-0 win over Mangere at Links Avenue this afternoon.
Trailing North Shore by three points and four goals, Duncan Lowry's men got exactly the result they needed to leapfrog their rivals into second spot to grab automatic promotion.
A brace from leading scorer Jerahl Huges added to Andrew Cooper's spectacular opener before teenage substitute Strauss Boom grabbed the goal that sealed promotion for the Blues.
In an extraordinary turnaround, United overcame a ten-goal deficit in their last two games, and an emotional Lowry described the achievement as 'Roy of the Rovers stuff' after the final whistle.
