UPDATED: 4.15pm. A water main has burst on 15th Avenue in Tauranga, causing flooding to properties in the immediate vicinity.
Tauranga City Council have confirmed that houses in Burrows Street, Turret Road, Mayfair Street and Scantlebury Street are expected to be without water until at least 2am tomorrow morning.

Two water tankers are being deployed and will be stationed outside the following locations: 26b Scantlebury Street, from 4.30pm, and 65 Turret Road, from 5pm.
People are being advised to bring their own water containers.
The break on 15th Avenue is said to have caused flooding 'in a few properties” says city council communication advisor Marcel Currin.
'We don't yet know how long the water shutdown will last,” he says.
'A water truck is being arranged so people can pick up emergency water supplies.
'We will update as soon as we can.”
Houses without water are: All of Scantlebury and Mayfair street, 39 to 107 Turret Road, 15th Avenue even numbers between 2 and 56, 16th Avenue odd numbers between 1 and 21, and 71 Burrows Street.
