Kicking off in September, the 14-show national tour sees the trio performing in main cities, tiny towns and everything in-between.
For the Cooks Beach show Anika will perform songs from her new critically acclaimed album Queen at the Table, plus all the old favourites and some of her favourite covers.
'Another tour, another year,” says Anika. 'I love singing and traveling and meeting all you glorious humans. My heart has always been in Aotearoa and will remain until I'm grey and weary and can't stand to sing anymore!”
Joining Anika on tour is SJD who's recently released his new album Saint John Divineto to widespread acclamation also.
This will be SJD's first national tour of New Zealand as a solo artist and will be offering fans an acoustic set at the shows.
'I'm so excited about touring with Anika and Jol,” says SJD. 'I'm fully expecting to get schooled but nevertheless looking forward to seeing how a few of these songs hold up with just guitar and voice.
This will be a special night featuring two wonderful, funny, clever and beautiful songwriters doing what they do best: telling you their stories from the heart and soul.
Anika Moa with special guest SJD, play at the Eggsentric Cafe And Restaurant in Cooks Beach on Friday, October 2, from 7.30pm. R18 gig. Tickets cost $30 and are available via Eventfinda.
