Lights out at 15th Ave

There are no traffic lights working at the intersection of 15th Avenue and Fraser Street. Traffic there is currently under the control of a road worker conducting unofficial points duty.

The traffic lights at the 15th Avenue intersection with Fraser Street are not working.

A caller to SunLive says although the road worker is 'doing a really good job”, she would not want to be driving through that intersection at 5pm during rush hour.

they are doing a much better job than the lights do so why not remove the lights and employ these people full time. better still install a roundabout, PS if the council or tansit thinks about replacing the given rd roundabout with lights they are going to have a fight on there hands

Good work guys

The contractors hired for the 15th Ave job have been excellent. This would be a tough job, especially this time fo year. I agree Capt_Kaveman, traffic lights would be a shambles. Just as well NZTA have given the investigation responsibility to proper consultants instead of armchair experts in which we seem to have a surplus of.
