If you head out to Mount Maunganui tonight for Tauranga band Tuner's new single release party, you'll be supporting Cystic Fibrosis NZ at the same time.
Taking to the stage at Rosie O'Gradies for the release of Roll Another One will be a seven-piece incarnation of Tuner, with support from Auckland based singer/songwriter Yasamin Al-Tiay.

Frontman Derek Toner says the new track was written in honour of his friendRichie Yeates, who died from bone cancer in 2012.
'Richie developed bone cancer four years ago and died three years ago,” explains Derek.
'It took a long time to write this song. Everything I was writing was very sad, depressing and that's not what I wanted for Richie.
'But then a bolt of inspiration hit me last year and I came up Roll Another One. I sent a message out asking friends and family for help and my Facebook lit up. People sent their ideas and memories which I used for the lyrics.”
The song was recorded in January this year and features 15 local musicians, including members of Tuner plus Kokomo trumpeter Sonia Bullot.
In April, Derek travelled to Ireland to debut the song in Richie's hometown of Dunboyne, where they raised over $2,500 for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
'We've been blown away by the support this song has received,” he adds.
'During another charity event it was covered by singer/songwriter Glen Hansard, who is huge in Ireland.”
The gig will also see a number of raffles, with prizes donated by local businesses who Derek thanks for their overwhelming support.
Derek says Cystic Fibrosis NZ was chosen because back in the day, Richie was a fervent supporter of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
'So in his honour, we decided all of the profits from the single and gig will go to the New Zealand foundation,” says Derek. 'This will be a night of all original music and that's also testament to Richie.”
Tuner and Friends play Rosie O'Grady's tonight (June 12). Doors open 8pm. Entry costs $10 with all profits raised donated to Cystic Fibrosis NZ.
