Finding a contact for sporting clubs can be a real challenge for the community especially as contacts can change so frequently.
Sport Bay of Plenty has over the past few years produced a FREE Bay of Plenty A-Z Sports Directory.
This resource guide has a sole sport focus and promotes sporting organisations and what they have to offer the Bay of Plenty community.
As a Bay-wide resource it lists the regional sporting organisation contacts for different sports activities giving the public the direct contact for the sport who can then direct them to the right club in their community.
As well as listing the sporting opportunities, the guide also outlines the reserves and facilities that are utilised within each of the separate local authority areas; Tauranga City Council, Western Bay District Council, Rotorua District Council, Whakatane District Council, Kawerau District Council and Opotiki District Council.
The current 2012 directory lists 52 sporting codes but we know there are plenty more activities operating within the Bay community that can be involved.
As Sport Bay of Plenty's Sport Team Manager this is a great vehicle for the regional sporting organisations to advertise their activity through as it supports their local clubs and links them directly to their target market.
So how does your sporting club get involved in this great resource and how do you get your hands on a copy to see what sporting activates are available in your area?
To get your hands on a 2012 copy either contact Sport Bay of Plenty directly and we can send you one or simply visit your local Council, library, community centres and sporting venues to pick one up.
To get your sporting activity included in the 2013 directory contact your regional sporting organisation and make sure they are on the Sport Bay of Plenty directory list and if not get them to contact their office - [email protected] or 07 578 0016.
Information for the 2013 directory closes on the 31st November so make sure you get your detail in before then.
This is a fantastic resource for the community to encourage more people to be more active more often so make sure you are a part of it.
