Bike Wise is definitely in full swing now and what wonderful weather we have had this past week to enjoy.
Bruce Galloway's Urban Mountain Bike Loop starting from the Historic Village on Wednesday night had a stunner turnout with over 45 keen riders out and about to explore the cycle-ways.
Katikati are getting into Bike Wise this year with the local gym holding time trials in the middle of the town yesterday. Those on the bikes tried to go as far as possible in one minute!
Last night the first event at the TECT All Terrain Park was held; the Piko Piko Trails Poker Run.

Participants did laps around the 2km Uno track and drew cards as they went to put together a poker hand.
Whoever had the best ‘poker hand' won!
The TECT All Terrain Park is hosting another Bike Wise event this Saturday, the Piko Piko Trails Family Challenge, a relay bike challenge for families consisting of two adults and two children around a 300m off road track.
It's free and suitable for five-years up, bring your mountain bike and helmet – to register contact Garry on 027 245 7595.

Love to bike? Love to rock the frock?
The local Frocks on Bikes group will be riding in style this Saturday for their Valentines Frocknic.
Don your best threads and celebrate love on their annual Valentine's Ride and Frocknic – finishing with a picnic after.
Meet as Robbins Park on Cliff Road at 10am; bring along a road worthy bicycle and helmet, your sweetheart, picnic supplies if you wish to dine in style a la frocknic!
There is something for everybody this Bike Wise month so pop to your local library or local bike shop and pick up your Bike Wise events calendar or download from www.sportbop.co.nz
