It happens, he had had a heart attack the year before and was told by the insurance company that his trauma cover would not pay out because his heart attack did not qualify. After hearing their story, I asked if I could on their behalf go through the claim process again, as I felt that they had been wronged. Within a month of putting in another claim and sourcing all the information this insurance company required, I succeeded in getting the claim paid out. We now have two very happy people with $68,000 in their bank account.

It is amazing how many people do not have someone in place to look after these issues for them.

If you have a financial advisor, they should be offering you a review of your insurances every year. It is very important you make the time to do this. If your advisor is absent or you have taken out polices with an institution (such as a bank), then you need to engage a good financial advisor. Most of us need all the help we can get at claim time when dealing with large anonymous institutions.
