I recently had a call from someone reporting major improvements in her health after suffering for decades with sinus and allergy problems with mild asthma. The main problem was the chronic sinusitis. This resulted in constant sinus infections with regular antibiotic treatment, antihistamine use and nasal sprays. She also complained of constant tiredness and lethargy.

The sinuses have a very thin membrane and if these are permanently inflamed it can cause a long term problem. This combined with regular infections can cause all sorts of additional misery. She had a good diet so it only meant adding a specific nutritional supplement regime. We commenced a programme targeting a range of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents. We also added a topical antibacterial spray of colloidal silver for a month or so. This morning she reported that after now four months the problem had almost disappeared and was now off antihistamines and as a bonus has had a marked improvement in energy and well being.

Over the years I have seen many people with similar responses to nutrient therapy. For some people such problems are permanent and for others seasonal and it is in the spring when it is generally worse. It is important to understand that this type of approach does take time and as expected people will have different outcomes.

What I like to do is to start a programme with three components. The first is a well formulated multi antioxidant, multi vitamin and multi mineral combined with Omega 3. This makes sure that the person has all the nutrients to support these defense systems which have largely failed. The second is to add a very specific antioxidant and immune system modulating complex that helps to turn down the faulty immune response and helps control histamine release. The third is topical application of colloidal silver into the sinuses to help control any background infection.

The really interesting thing is all we did was to add nutrients that have allowed some normality return to her immune system and to help retain the integrity of the respiratory tract. This again testifies that our bodies have complex healing and defense systems but we need to ensure they have what they need to help our bodies deal with problems like these.
