The Principals Day Out is an initiative of Western Bay of Plenty economic development agency Priority One.

It annual event aims to get principals out of schools, participating in hands on applications and learning about different career skills for students leaving high school.

This year the field trip was called ‘The Science Behind Business' and the principals took in sites such as the Port of Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty Clinical School.

On this tour the principals visited the audiology and radiology departments of Tauranga Hospital.

The intention of the event is for principals to take what they have learned from the tours back to their schools, and use the information to help direct their students down the correct career paths.

This is the fifth year the event has been held for the principals.
