Action packed A&P show

Te Puke's A&P Show has left no stone unturned when it comes to events for this year's show.

There is something for everyone with sheep racing, truck and tractor pulling, motocross, digger competition and much more.

Show secretary Kim Cawte says they already have ideas for next year's show to get the townies involved.

'The weather is fantastic and we have drawn a huge crowd. On a day like this we usually get 3000-4000 people.

'The horses look great, we have sheep races going on, we have truck and tractor pulling and digger competitions. You name it, we have it.

'This is an A&P show and it's one of the best,” says Kim.

The show also has highland dance demonstrations and an array of equestrian competitions taking place.

Kim says it's great for people to bring their young horses along.

'We have the Enduro Cross which is great, because it's part of the national circuit now.

Enduro Cross involves motocross riders competing through a huge course. It's just super, we get a big crowd for that.

'We have a big pet corner with all kinds of birds you can think of. We also have kittens and puppies for sale as well.”

There are goats on display and horse and pony rides for children.

Kim says next year they're going to have a donkey section too.

Tracy Reynolds from the Te Puke Vet Centre is on site along with St John, coastguard and the Te Puke Fire Brigade.

People can come along to the show and buy whatever they want, says Kim.

There are tractors, ride-on lawnmowers and trucks for sale.

Kim says the only thing not for sale this year is cars.
