Voters are being given the chance to meet all seven candidates contesting the Coromandel seat in Whitianga this Friday.

Hosted by Grey Power and the Mercury Bay Business Association, the Meet the Candidates Meeting is at the Whitianga Town Hall on monk Street, from 7pm.

This Friday at the Whitianga Town Hall voters can meet the seven candidates, like current MP Scott Simpson, who are contesting the Coromandel seat in this year's election.

Spokeswoman Ada McCallum says this is a perfect opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates and their policies.

'This meeting also gives people an opportunity to see who our candidates are.

'We have given each candidates seven minutes to discuss their party's policies, then we're allowing an hour for questions from the public."

The seven Coromandel candidates are the Green's Catherine Delahunty, Ban 1080's Mike Downard, NZ First's Grant Ertel, ACT's David Olsen, Māori Party's Hiria Pakinga, Labour's Korbinian Poschl, Conservative's David Walkden, and current Coromandel MP Scott Simpson of National.

'We absolutely encourage all our local voters to come down this Friday, this will be a great opportunity for local voters,” says Ada.
