NZ First leader Winston Peters has again been halted on his journey to Tauranga by a cancelled flight out of Auckland today.
This is the second time in a month Winston's NZ8211 flight from Auckland to Tauranga arriving at 9am has been cancelled.
NZ First leader Winston Peters will still visit Tauranga today despite a cancelled flight.
A planned visit on July 14 was also canned after the MP's flight from Auckland was cancelled due to fog.
An Air NZ spokesperson at Tauranga Airport says flights arriving from Auckland today have been cancelled due to engineering reasons and those directly affected have been booked on alternative flights.
NZ First candidate Clayton Mitchell says Winston is currently in a car on his way to Tauranga and will still be visiting the city today.
He is now expected to meet with Deputy Mayor Kelvin Clout and other councillors at 11.30am where he will discuss city issues and Route K debt.
He will later visit Radius Retirement Village and view a proposed industrial marine park and University of Waikato Marine Research Facility in Sulphur Point before unveiling NZ First offices.
Tomorrow Winston will head down to the Eastern Bay of Plenty to visit Whakatane, a Kawerau Rest Home and attend a Grey Power meeting.
Conservative leader Colin Craig will also visit the city today to announce the party's Tauranga and BOP candidates for this year's general election.

I'm not fussed if we miss out on seeing any of the politicians really. It won't be long before we are being ignored again and we are paying them for the privilege. Elections are not about communities or local issues that is for the wannabes in council that take their advice from the council staffers (What are their political agendas I wonder?)
gods way
