Western Bay of Plenty Students Against Driving Drunk (SADD) braved the scorching sun and wind at Mt Drury, Mt Maunganui to spread their message; 'Its not SADD to be soba'.
SADD's'No More White Crosses' campaign has taken them to four locations where they have been handing out sunblock, lollipops, fake tattoos and wrist bands to passers by and emphasising the importance of not driving drunk.
"It's alarming that drink driving remains as the leading cause of avoidable death amongst young people; and that drink drive statistics for under 20's continue to climb," said Dominique Cornille, SADD Regional Coordinator for the Upper North Island.

SADD is a peer education programme that has been operating in New Zealand Secondary Schools for 23 years.
