Seasonal workers at Satara's North Island packhouse and coolstore operations will be receiving their safety tips from Te Puke Primary School students next season.
Nine, 10 and 11 year olds from the school have created a DVD which outlines safe and hygienic practices for the workers.
See video below for excerpt from the new child produced Satara safety DVD.
Satara human resources manager, Candy Gray, says the guidelines demonstrated in the DVD can often seem a boring part of the induction process but are hugely important for the health and wellbeing of all employees.
'We were looking for a fun way to clearly demonstrate the guidelines without undermining their importance. The DVD was the perfect way to do it and having the children acting in it has made it all the better,” says Candy.
'The students have done an outstanding job and conducted themselves in a very responsible and mature manner when working on our sites. We are very impressed with the end result,” says Satara Cooperative Group CEO Wes Anderson-Smith.
The DVD premiered on Tuesday night at Satara, where Wes personally congratulated the students.
