Soft drink is on the lips of many this week, with a survey showing 27 per cent of Tauranga residents under 40 are drinking more than five servings a week.
Southern Cross Health Society's annual survey results also show in comparison to their younger counterparts, 67 per cent of Tauranga residents aged over 40 drank no soft drinks at all – the highest no-soft drink result in New Zealand.
The society's survey questioned 2000 people nationwide, including 158 Tauranga residents, about their eating and drinking habits.
Nationwide 35 per cent of New Zealanders thought they drank too many soft drinks, with 16 per cent of the population consuming more than five a week.
