Live jazz performances, vintage cars and a film under the stars will entertain crowds at the launch of this year's 2014 National Jazz Festival tomorrow night.

The National Jazz Festival Tauranga, in conjunction with The Little Big Markets and Night Owl Cinema, will launch with an evening of celebrations at Tauranga Waterfront's Edgewater Fan on Friday.

Jazz Festival director Becks Chambers says the launch gives Tauranga residents a sneak peek of what the Easter weekend festival, on April 17-21, is all about.

Flyers with information about the Easter event will be handed out at tomorrow's launch.

The 2014 National Jazz Festival Launch is on from 5pm with a launch presentation at 6.30 and movie screening at 8.30pm.
