Tauranga MP Simon Bridges is 'deeply flattered” his website has been targetted by anti-oil drilling activists after 10 new oil and gas permits were awarded by his ministry yesterday.
A hoax website www.simon-bridges.co.nz has been set up overnight that replica's Simon's website but shows a black cloud swirling up the screen engulfing it in 'oil'.
The image that appears on a website replica of Simon Bridges' site.

A message, with a Greenpeace logo, directs people to OilSpill.com's website against protesting oil drilling in NZ.
"That was just a bit of fun, but a real oil spill wouldn't be," says the website.
"Drilling rights in the very deep ocean surrounding New Zealand are being sold off to big oil companies. Exploratory drilling has already begun."
In a comment released this morning, Simon says he is deeply flattered by all the money Greenpeace is spending on promoting his personal campaign before next year's general election.
Yesterday Simon announced 10 new oil and gas exploration permits representing about $62million in committed expenditure.
The permits include five onshore permits across Taranaki and the East Coast and five offshore permits across the Reinga-Northland, Taranaki, and Great South-Canterbury Basins.
The granting of such permits has been controversial, and follows protests against deep sea drilling off the coast of Raglan.
But Simon returns fire on the hacking saying 'I reckon the billboard was better”.
His jab relates to the 300sqm billboard 'Simon Bridges Pants on Fire” Greenpeace erected in July following accusations of misleading Parliament about a meeting held with oil company Shell regarding a controversial Crown Minerals Bill amendment covering deep-sea oil protests.

www.simon-bridges.co.nz is not bridges website - this is a mirror website, a bit of trickery to make a point.

God knows I am no fan of the oil business, but idea that we all swan around in out big monster trucks and sporty Holdens while all the time saying how bad these companies are for drilling in our lovely land is a bit hypocritical. NZ is a petrol head culture it loves big noisy fuel guzzling cars, its like the Americans and guns, if you don't own a big one well your a bit of a Wuss. Until NZ looks very closely at its energy use I really don't think we can keep expecting third world economy's to paddle around in the filth the oil companies litter there lands with while we complain. Sorry but we need to become more responsible for other places not just our own.
We have enough already

Just a reminder to people that the world has enough known reserves of oil, gas and coal to push the global climate into catastrophic meltdown. It does not make economic sense to find more.
Go ...
