Principals and biz instep

Western Bay of Plenty economic development agency Priority One has taken all of the region's high school principals on a field trip to grow the relationship between education and business in the Bay.

The Western Bay of Plenty's eight secondary school principals participated in the fifth Principals' Day Out event and were also given a tree to plant at their schools.

The Principal's Day Out held on Tuesday was a part of Priority One's INSTEP programme, with manager Lyn Parlane saying this was the fifth time the event had been held.
'It's just fantastic for us because the principals all got on really well together and it was a really good day for them to see what's happening in the region in terms of growth areas,” says Lyn.
The day's tour included a visit to the Chapel Street wastewater plant, Omokoroa and the Western Bay of Plenty District Council offices at Barkes Corner where the principals learned about worms.
