One person has been transported to Tauranga Hospital following a crash involving a truck and a pedestrian in Maketu on Sunday morning.

Police said staff were alerted to the crash on Bledisloe Park Ave just before midday.

Hato Hone St John said it was notified of the motor vehicle incident in Maketu at 11.55am and sent one ambulance and one first response unit.

"Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Tauranga Hospital in a moderate condition," it said.

Police said no road closures are in place.
