Traffic is reportedly stalled on Te Awanui Drive following reports of a crash in Mount Maunganui.

A reader has phoned in to say that there was a two vehicle crash near “the silos on Hewletts Rd”.

The reader said one of the vehicles looked badly damaged and traffic was “nuts”.

According to Google’s Live Traffic Reporting, traffic is stalled in the Mount bound lane between the Elizabeth St roundabout, over the Tauranga Harbour Bridge heading towards Totara St.

Police have been contacted for more information.
