Tauranga City Council has confirmed it will continue night‑time road maintenance works along Cameron Rd over the next few weeks.
The work is happening in three stages. Each stage will take between three and five nights, with short breaks between stages, the council said in a statement this week.
The first stage near Greerton has just been completed.
“Cameron Rd will stay open throughout the works, with traffic management in place to keep everyone moving,” the council said.
Stage Two – Church St to 22nd Ave: Sunday, March 1, to Tuesday, March 3, (6pm to 8am).
“This stage is expected to take three to five nights, with physical works between 7pm and 5am. There will be lane closures on Cameron Rd, but a lane will stay open in each direction.”
Access changes include:
The council said there would be no access to Munro St or 22nd Ave from Cameron Rd. Munro St traffic will exit through the shopping centre.
“After 8pm, 22nd Ave will be closed at Cameron Rd. Use 17th Ave/Fraser St/Courtney Rd or Chadwick Rd/Fraser St/Courtney Rd instead.
“Kauri St will be closed at Cameron Rd. Please use 23rd Ave/Rimu St.”
Stage Three – 17th Ave to 21st Ave (near the hospital)
This work is expected to be done by mid-March, the council said.
“It will take three to five nights, with a lane open each way to reduce disruption.
“These closures are for patch repairs, necessary to keep the road functioning safely and efficiently until the Cameron Rd Stage 2 project gets underway in a few years’ time.”
All works are weather-dependent.
