A vehicle crashed into a building in Gate Pa shopping centre in Tauranga.
Emergency services were called just after 12pm after reports that a vehicle had collided with a building.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand communications spokesperson confirmed that “a vehicle had crashed into a building”.
A worker at Coupland’s, the bakery involved, said a vehicle had gone into their building.
This is the second time the store has been hit.
On June 1, 2025, a Mercedes-Benz ploughed through the bakery’s window, causing significant damage.
Meanwhile, police also responded to a separate incident nearby.
At around 3.30pm, officers were called to a two‑vehicle crash on Cambridge Rd near Westminster Drive.
“There are no reports of injuries,” a police spokesperson said.
The road was partially blocked while emergency services attended the scene.
