Emergency crews respond to Tauriko truck crash

A truck has rolled at Tauriko.

Emergency services were called to the crash near the State Highway 29a and Redwood Lane roundabout about 10.10am.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said the truck was on its side and there was a small diesel spill reported.

Three crews went to the scene and the driver of the truck was removed using a ladder, he said.

A police spokesman said the occupant had moderate injuries.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said one person has been taken to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition.

Thats what happens when you add so many roundabouts on our roading where Heavy Transport travel.

@hostile - or when trucks travel too quickly through a roundabout! There's probably been hundreds (if not thousands) of container trucks through that roundabout since it opened and this is the first one to tip over - why?
