Update, 10pm: Police are continuing to make enquiries following a search for a man in the Te Puke area.
“Police were called at around 4.10pm to an address on No 1 Road where a person, previously involved in a family harm incident there, had turned up at,” police said.
“Police responded, however the person has fled in a vehicle.”
No 1 Road in Te Puke was closed while police worked with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit and the Police Eagle helicopter.
"While Police actively searched for the man, he was not located and the search was stood down at around 9pm," police said.
"Police will continue to make enquiries into the matter."
Update, 8.10pm: Police said the Police Eagle helicopter is in the Te Puke area to assist ground staff with a search.
No 1 Road in Te Puke remains closed while police work to track down a person with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit.

Earlier, 6.23pm: Police have closed No 1 Road in Te Puke while working to track down a person with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit.
“Police were called at around 4.10pm to an address on No 1 Road where a person, previously involved in a family harm incident there, had turned up at,” police said.
“Police responded, however the person has fled in a vehicle.”
Police said there was a brief pursuit before the vehicle was successfully spiked.
“The person has then fled on foot,” police said.
“Police are currently working to track down the person with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit.
“No 1 Road has been closed briefly from Cheetham Avenue and No 2 Road, to assist with the search.”
