One person has been taken into custody following a motor vehicle crash in Paengaroa on Wednesday evening.

"Police were called to Allport Rd near Roydon Downs Rd at around 5.50pm following a single vehicle crash," police said.

"There are no reports of injuries."

Fire and Emergency NZ sent a crew from the Maketū fire station to the scene.

"One person was taken into custody at the scene," police said. 

"Contractors have been contacted."
