Food, landscaping and beauty at Piako Fete

Landscape, culinary arts and beauty are the unique mix on offer at the inaugural Piako Fete on Thursday November 15, 2012.

'Since the Ellerslie Flower Show moved south, ladies of the north have missed out on all the fun of a garden design show and event,” says event manager Lynsey Champion.

The Piako Fete aims to fill that gap and those attending will find creative inspiration for the summer at the event which offers an opportunity to see two masters of design in action.

Both award winning landscape designer Xanthe White and Masterchef runner up and foodie genius Ana Schwarz will be in attendance to demonstrate creative and best practice in design.

They will be joined by local Tamahere artist and photographer Jenny Scown and sculptor Mark Dimock from Eketahuna who will be exhibiting their renowned works to a backdrop of live music and performing arts.

'Stalls will include fashion, home ware, natural beauty products, artisan food hampers, and plenty of products to delight all members of the family.” says Lynsey.

Dalton's Plantation, a joint venture with leading landscape Ddsigner Xanthe White is 4.04 hectares of display gardens with a function centre and cafe making it an ideal venue for the Piako Fete.

The event creators are Lynsey Champion one of New Zealand's most distinguished cloth hat makers and Michelle Lewis, a talented graphic designer who runs her own company.

Piako Fete is on Thursday November 15 at Daltons Plantation, Matamata. Tickets cost $19/- for more go to
