Experience the joy of vintage machinery. Head along to the Tauranga Racecourse and experience four fabulous decades of the Tauranga Vintage Machinery Club. There will be tractor rides, a children's play area, hay rides, static engine displays, a hay making display, and plenty of coffee and hot food.

The Tauranga Vintage Machinery Club are holding a live day today where you can witness a mesmerizing display of vintage tractors reviving the past. Admission is $5 per person from age 13 and above, whereas children under 12 have free entry.

New Zealand Festival of Longboarding at Pāpāmoa

The second day of the New Zealand Festival of Longboarding is happening at Pāpāmoa Beach today, Sunday, February 18.  Head down to The Domain this weekend to catch some of New Zealand’s best Longboarders in action.

This two-day event, new to the Bay of Plenty Region, is part of the wider New Zealand Longboard Series and caters for Under 18s, Seniors, Open Men and Open Women. A celebration of Longboarding in New Zealand, the New Zealand Festival of Longboarding brings together some of the most talented Longboarders in the country. The Open Champions of this event will qualify for the New Zealand Longboard team to head overseas to represent New Zealand at the ISA World Longboard Championship!

Outdoor blues with Kokomo & co
 
It's time for some outdoor blues with Kokomo. It's Derek's birthday and the band will be staying close to home for the first gig of the year.  Head out into the sun with them at the beautiful amphitheatre at Te Puna Quarry Park, with special guests, blues legends Mike Garner and Robbie Laven.

Pukehinahina Lecture series
 
The third and final talk of the Pukehinahina Lecture series entitled Faith as resistance: Pai Mārire & Tauranga Moana will be held at 7pm at St George's Church, 1 Church St,Pyes Pa today.

This year is the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Pukehinahina-Gate Pa, an important event for Tauranga. Free lectures to help our community understand our city's history and how it shapes our present have been presented, with the third lecture tonight being given by Graham Cameron (Ngāti Ranginui, Waitaha ā Hei, Ngāti Rangiwewehi, Ngāti Hinerangi).
