Police name Te Puke fatal crash victim

The serious crash unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

Police can now name the woman who died following a crash near Te Puke.

Hasting's woman Myra Leef, 68, died after a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Strang Road and Te Puke Highway on Sunday, October 16.

Another person was transported to hospital in a serious condition.

'Police extend their condolences to his family and friends,” says a police spokesperson in a statement released today.

'Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.”

People with information about the crash, and who haven't already spoken with police, are asked to contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can also be phoned in anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

Non-emergency information can be passed on via the police's 105 number.
