Pat Rae is well known in the Bay of Plenty sporting community.

He is the Community Rugby general manager for Bay of Plenty Rugby.

In the latest Sports Buzz podcast - a weekly review of sport around Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and the wider Bay of Plenty- on BuzzWorthy, a new podcast site launched by Sun Media, the former rugby player, referee and coach talks about his story.

He discusses what it's like to spent a career devoted to the sport 'we all know and love so much”.

Pat is a highly successful NPC player, representing a number of teams. He was also part of the police force and the combined services.

'I have been part of rugby my whole life. I was dragged along to the Glenfield Rugby Club back in 1971 as a four-year-old while my parents were training.”

It has been from that day on that Pat has been involved in rugby in one form or another.
