Update, 5PM: Police have arrested two men following an incident in Welcome Bay where a firearm was allegedly presented and threats made.
Officers were called to a residential address about 2.50pm on Saturday afternoon.
"The alleged offender left the property in a vehicle," says a Police spokesperson.
"It was located abandoned nearby a short time later, and the two occupants were found in the vicinity of the vehicle."
The incident is believed to be connected to a matter earlier on Saturday, where one man sustained a minor wrist injury during an altercation, during which a firearm was also allegedly discharged, says Police.
Police are currently not seeking anyone else in relation to these matters.
"We would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation today while we worked in the area," says a Police spokesperson.
The two men have been taken into custody and Police say that charges are being considered.
Update, 4.53PM Police say there is currently no ongoing risk to the wider public around an incident in Welcome Bay.

'There are Police with firearms standing at the intersection of Asher Road and Welcome Bay Road and they've got Asher Road completely closed with spike strips,” says a SunLive reporter at the scene.
'There are three Police cars on Welcome Bay Road near Asher Road.
'All the Police are armed.”
A caller to SunLive has also reported that they have seen that 'multiple Police cars are travelling to Tauranga from Rotorua dressed in armed offenders' uniforms”.
A helicopter has also arrived at the scene in Welcome Bay and is flying overhead.
Police say that there has been a dispute involving parties known to each other at a private address in Welcome Bay.

SunLive readers are reporting that Police appear to be searching for a person in Welcome Bay.
"The Police have put road spikes across Asher Road," says a SunLive reader.
Other SunLive readers have also reported Police cars in Welcome Bay, with a strong presence of Police around Ngapeke Road and Asher Road.
"There has been a dispute involving parties known to each other at a private address," says a Police spokesperson.
"Police are on scene working to speak to the parties involved."
It is unknown if there are any firearms involved or whether the incident is related
to an earlier incident on Saturday morning in Welcome Bay.
