Papamoa Football Club, the only remaining Bay Of Plenty side in the Chatham Cup, will face an unknown yet daunting opposition at home this weekend in the third round of the Chatham Cup.

The Papamoa FC are scheduled to face off against Hamilton Wanderers at 2pm on Sunday at Gordon Spratt Reserve in Papamoa.

Papamoa FC president Maaka Nelson feels the side is well prepared.

'We've been relatively lucky health wise for this time of the season and all of our players have prepared well and are looking forward to the game.”

Maaka says that the opposition is a relative unknown.

'We haven't played Hamilton Wanderers before but the guys love stepping up and playing stronger sides.”

Papamoa FC make it a habit of rising to the occasion and have beaten an Auckland Conference team, NRFL Division 1 team and an NRFL Division 2 team to date.

Aside from the main event, there will also be three Federation Youth games and two women's games.

Maaka predicts there will be a large crowd and is encouraging locals to get down to the games for a great family day.
