There has been a serious crash on State Highway 29 in the lower Kaimai Range.

NZTA advise that the crash was reported to emergency services at 5.41pm.

Police report that the crash involved two vehicles.

"One person was moderately injured and another has minor injuries," says a Police spokesperson.

Tows have been called for the vehicles and traffic management is in place.

Traffic delays are expected.
