UPDATE 8.59AM: One person is reported to have received minor injuries following crash on State Highway 29A, near Maungatapu.

Emergency services were called to the crash, between the bridge and the Maungatapu rounabout just after 8am.

A police spokesperson says the crash happened just south of the Taipari Street overbridge.

A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says the crash "appears to be minor and there are no significant delays".

"Traffic is flowing well and no signs of increased congestion."

Traffic delays are being reported on State Highway 29A near Maungatapu.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says traffic is stalled between the Maungatapu Bridge and the Maungatapu roundabout.

"It looks like there has been a crash on the highway.

"Emergency services are at the scene."
