UPDATE 4pm: A person is in a serious condition after a crash involving a motorcycle and three vehicles on State Highway 29.
A St John spokesperson says one ambulance and an intensive care paramedic attended the crash at the intersection of SH29 and McLaren Falls Road around 2:40pm.
One patient is in a serious condition has been transported to Tauranga Hospital via ambulance, they say.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising the is crash blocking a lane, so caution is advised along the route.
UPDATE: 3.45pm Emergency services are attending a crash involving a motorcycle and three vehicles on State Highway 29.
A police spokesperson says police were called to the collision at the intersection of SH29 and McLaren Falls Road at 2:40pm.
'Two people involved have moderate injuries,” says the spokesperson.
'It is unclear if the road is partially or fully blocked but traffic management has been called to the scene.”
EARLIER: Reports are coming in of a crash on State Highway 29 in the lower Kaimai area.
Tauranga City Council says there is a report of a motor vehicle accident involving three cars and a motorcycle.
Council says the crash is reported to be at the intersection of McLaren Falls Road and SH29.
'The police have not arrived at the scene yet,” says council.
Traffic is already building in the area according to Google live traffic updates.
