There has been a vehicle collision between Matata and Edgecumbe on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services received reports of a crash involving a car and a small truck on State Highway 2 between Matata and Edgecumbe at about 12.20pm.

"The crash resulted in the car being flipped," says a Police spokesperson.

"However the occupants only received minor injuries and the road is being cleared by contractors."
