UPDATE 10.53AM: One person is in serious condition following a truck crash on State Highway 2.

A police spokesperson says a truck is reported to have crashed into a bank and overturned on SH2 East, Waimana.

The incident was reported around 8am

"One person is reported to have serious injuries.

"The job indicates traffic management was being put in place."

People are advised to expect delays in the area.

EARLIER:

A truck crash is being reported on State Highway 2 in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Waka Kotahi Transport Agency reports a truck has crash on the highway in the Waimana Gorge.

"Please follow the directions of emergency services.

"Delays in the area are likely. Diversions may be required.

"Road closure is possible."
