A cyclist has died following a crash in Te Aroha.
Police have confirmed the incident confirmed a cyclist, not a pedestrian as initially reported.
The crash was reported to police at 11am.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Waiorongomai Road and Te Aroha-Gordon Road.
'Initial reports indicated the crash involved a pedestrian and a vehicle, however it involved a cyclist and a vehicle,” says a police spokesperson.
The police state the road is expected to be open soon.

used to live in te aroha biking to and from work, considering the wind in the bay of plenty... they were probably blown into the road, has happened to me whilst i lived there i was blown uncontrollably across both lanes one shoulder to the other luckily nothing else was on the road at the time.
