4.45pm State Highway 2 between Baypark and Papamoa is now clear following an earlier crash.

The left southbound lane was partially blocked just after the Sandhurst Drive on-ramp following a crash this afternoon.

It is unknown if anyone was injured, and traffic built up in the area until the lane was reopened.

Earlier, 3.15pm: One lane is blocked on State Highway 2 following a crash this afternoon.

Emergency services are at the scene of the crash on SH2, between Baypark and Papamoa.

Waka Kotahi Transport Agency reports that the left southbound lane is partially blocked, just after the Sandhurst Drive on-ramp.

"Please pass with care and follow directions by emergency services on-site."

Traffic is building in the area and motorists are being advised to expect delays.
